Overview
Tales from the Dorm Side is a no-holds barred adventure in the lives of two college
roommates, Billy Bob and Jerome. Together, and sometimes in spite of each
other, they struggle to face life in college on their own terms... while
getting themselves into all kinds of messes.
Tales from the Dorm Side is look at the time of life that almost everyone looks
back upon as the most fun, unpredictable and memorable. College.
That's what I want Tales from the Dorm Side to be... fun, unpredictable and
memorable. The situations Billy Bob and Jerome could get into are limitless.
And I'm not
just talking about the old "kid goes to college, gets a girlfriend and an
apartment and grows his hair long just to show his parents" stuff. I'm
talking about fun, mischievous and outlandish stuff that we all think about
doing from
time to time. The great part about Tales from the Dorm Side is that the guys
can do all those things... without being suspended or killed in the process.
The Setting
Tales from the Dorm Side is set at a medium-sized college (which has no name
so that readers won't get hung up on the idea that it is a school other than
the one they are familiar with). The campus is surrounded by rolling hills
and trees. It has male and female dorms, academic buildings, fountains, athletic
fields and a town surrounding it. It's the perfect environment for bored
college students to get into a lot of trouble.
Billy Bob
Billy Bob is a slob. He doesn't clean. He hates to bathe. He does, however
love to sleep. He loves the outdoors. And he loves to antagonize Jerome.
Billy Bob is a free spirit. The only time he is truly happy is when he's doing
whatever strikes him at the moment. The cool part about Billy Bob is that he
has no shame about it. Not any that I've seen yet, anyway.
Billy Bob rarely goes to class and he is much more likely to plan his bathroom
schedule for the next year than do homework. He knows exactly what he wants
to major in, but he insists that he has to sample all the majors, just to be "open-minded
about it."Billy Bob

Jerome
Jerome is a neat freak. He is very into hygiene and is fairly conservative
both in his opinions and in his dress. Jerome is the more level-headed
of the two, mainly because his head is shaped that way. Jerome has a definite
flair for the dramatic and tends to over-react.
Jerome has a bad habit of blurting out exactly what is on his mind at the time.
It's usually very inappropriate for the situation and gets him in trouble.
Jerome tries to be a good student. But like most other students, he falls off
the study wagon from time to time (usually as a result of being dragged around
doing whatever Billy Bob has decided they should be doing).
He is basically afraid of anything dangerous and goes along with Billy Bob's
schemes because he wants to be there either to corroborate the police report,
or identify the body.
