More About James...

James Pharaon has been a cartoonist since second grade when he created his first comic strip, "Slush." Since then he has refined his artistic style on such strips as Bill, Tales from the Dorm Side, Mark's Brothers and Jimbo & Johnny. James' lifelong dream- once he got over wanting to be a Houston Oiler and an astronaut- is to be a syndicated cartoonist and childrens' book author. He is still working toward that goal.

James has illustrated three books for actor/comedian Jeff Hodge. They are: Things That Tick Me Off About Driving, 101 Ways to Stay Awake on the Road, and Bumper Stickers That Make You Laugh.

James works as the Art Director of Germania Insurance in Brenham, Texas where he lives with his family– his wife and two kids. Check out iPharaon, the Pharaon family blog for more. He still does freelance design and illustration work and some freelance art direction (as time allows.)

In college at Sam Houston State University James was the mascot, Sammy Bearkat. He was ranked in the top 10 mascots in the nation and was the first Sammy Bearkat ever to qualify to compete at National Competition at Walt Disney World. James remains active with current Sammy Bearkats and as a part-time mascot coach.

When James isn't working on a graphic design or video project, he enjoys cycling, playing drums, fishing, camping, watching Westerns and just being outdoors.

Oh, and James loves Apple gadgets. Feel free to strike up a conversation about the latest Apple gear.

Be sure to check out James' links page for more things that make him tick or his resume page to find out some of the things he's done.
