The 2008 Sam Houston State Homecoming logo ended up being something really cool. The block area with the text is kind of plain, but what makes it really interesting is Sammy Bearkat peeking out from behind the logo.

This happens to be one of my favorite Sammy drawings I've ever done. It's friendly, it's playful and I like Sammy's lines a lot.

On Homecoming weekend, I was surprised to find that they had freed Sammy from the text box and had used him in some really cool ways, such as on window clings at area hotels and on banners lining the streets of Huntsville.
